In this course there is an equal emphasis on listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. The best way to learn a new language is to practice as often as possible.
With your commitment to practice as much as you can, the class will include such activities as in-class writings, small group work, oral presentations, readings, videos, and any other kind of activities from which you can learn Spanish developing an understanding of cultural and social aspects of Spanish-speaking countries describing yourself and others, communicating your ideas, thoughts, desires, likes, and dislikes, participating in a conversation about time, dates, family, work, study, etc.
Your grade will be based on the following criteria:

- On-time arrival to class.
- Participation in each class based on both quality and quantity.
- Ability to apply teaching directions in classroom activity.
- Quality of assignments including class work and homework.
- Assignments will be evaluated with rubrics.
- Some examples of rubrics: oral presentation rubric, body part project rubric, environmental project rubric, etc.
- Evaluation Method: HOLISTIC - EVERYTHING COUNTS!
- Ability to apply teaching directions in classroom activity.
- Visit Mr. Padilla during his office hours or set up an appointment.
- Talk with a classmate and/or from a study group.
- Use the resources available to you both at school and in your community and on the internet to get extra practice.
